The encounter between the security forces and the Naxalites began on Tuesday at 14:00 in Mad area of Kankar district. The injured soldiers were first brought to the Chhote Bethia police station, from here they were later sent to Raipur from Chaupar.
Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, the security forces achieved major success in Chhattisgarh. Security forces killed 29 Naxalites in Mead area of Kankar district. All the bodies were found. The Naxalite leader Shankar Rao was also included in these. Deputy CM Vijay Sharma called it a surgical strike by the Buster police on Naxalism.
3 soldiers including BSF inspector Ramesh Chaudhary were injured in the encounter.
