For the 2024 by-elections, mobile and internet services will remain closed in 13 districts and tehsils of Punjab including Lahore.
Punjab Home Department has sent a letter to the Ministry of Home Affairs for suspension of mobile and internet services. It has been said in the post that mobile and internet service should be suspended in 13 districts and tehsils on the day of the by-elections.
According to the authorities, mobile internet service should be kept off to maintain law and order in Lahore, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Talagang, Kalarkahar, Gujrat, Alipurchhata, Zafarwal, Bhakkar, Sadiqabad and DG Khan.

A copy of the letter has also been sent to the Chief Secretary Punjab, IG Punjab, Chairman AMP while the letter has also been sent to the concerned Commissioner CCPO Lahore and other officials.
It should be noted that voting for the by-elections in 21 national and provincial assembly constituencies across the country including Punjab will be held tomorrow. According to the Electoral Commission, the training of rating officers, presiding officers and data entry operators for the by-elections was also completed yesterday. Voting for by-elections in 21 national and provincial assembly constituencies will take place on April 21.
