BJP-Congress: face-to-face fight in 276 seats! Registration less candidates Congress, BJP fight with ‘India’! Achi-News

New Delhi: The Congress has so far announced the names of 282 candidates in 20 lists for the Lok Sabha elections. As of Wednesday, the BJP has announced the names of 432 candidates in 12 lists. Analyzing all the statistics, News18 sees that the Congress has not yet fielded candidates in 45 seats. On the other hand, the BJP is expected to release 10 additional names.

It is seen that BJP and Congress are fighting face to face in 276 seats. Regional parties are also in the fray. However, these constituencies also include several constituencies where neither party has yet announced a candidate.

Among the states where the Congress is yet to field a candidate is Haryana. Here, BJP has announced the names of 10 candidates, but Congress has not fielded a single candidate so far. Apart from Andhra Pradesh (12), Punjab (7), Telangana (3), Odisha (2), Uttar Pradesh (2), Bihar (6) and Himachal Pradesh (2) Congress candidates are yet to be declared . BJP candidates in Jammu and Kashmir (3), Punjab (4) and Uttar Pradesh (2) are yet to be announced. No party has yet announced a candidate for the lone Ladakh seat.

However, it is estimated that the total number of Congress candidates may reach 330 in the final phase of nominations. Never in the history of Lok Sabha elections has a grand old party contested less than 400 seats. In 2004, Congress announced the names of 417 candidates. This is the lowest so far. In the 1991-92 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP fielded the highest number of candidates with 447 candidates.

This time, the Congress is fighting in the least number of seats leaving room for the alliance parties. In various states and union territories, the grand old party has joined forces with regional parties on seat-sharing basis to fight the BJP.

Tamil Nadu: As the largest state, Tamil Nadu is going to the polls in the first phase. Voting will be held in 39 constituencies in one day. The Congress is contesting in 9 seats. BJP has announced the names of 23 candidates. Congress won 8 in 2019 polls. BJP got zero. DMK won the maximum ie 24 seats.

In Tamil Nadu, the BJP and the Congress are going to fight hard in seven seats. These are – Krishnagiri, Tiruvallur, Karur, Birudhunagar, Sivaganga, Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari. AIADMK and DMDK are fighting with two national parties in these seats. AIADMK, BJP and Congress are also contesting in Puducherry’s only Lok Sabha seat. BSP has also fielded candidates in this seat.

16 candidates each in Kerala: The Congress and the BJP have announced the names of 16 candidates in Kerala. The second phase of polling will see a direct fight between the BJP and the Congress in 13 seats in the state. Rahul Gandhi has become the Congress candidate from WANAD. Left candidate Annie Raja and Kerala BJP unit president K Surendran oppose it. In Attingal, BJP’s V Muralidharan is challenging sitting Congress MP Adur Prakash. In Thiruvananthapuram, the battle is between Shashi Tharoor of Congress and Rajeev Chandrasekhar of BJP. In Alappuzha, Congress leader KC Venugopal is fighting against BJP’s Shobha Surendran.

In the remaining constituencies of Kasargod, Kannur, Bhatakara, Kozhikode, Palakkad, Alathur, Thrissur, Ernakulam and Pathanamthitta, the Congress is pitted against the BJP. In 2019, Congress won 15 out of 20 seats in Kerala. A total of 19 seats went to the United Democratic Front led by the Congress. CPI(M) gets one.

BJP-Congress contest all seats in 10 states/UTs: In 10 states and UTs with 27 Lok Sabha seats, two parties are in direct competition. These include the single seats of Puducherry, Sikkim, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Chandigarh and Mizoram.

The two parties will also face each other in five seats in Uttarakhand. Similarly, two seats each in Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and two parties in Daman and Diu will be contested.

Chhattisgarh is the state where BJP and Congress will fight against each other in every seat. The Congress and the BJP are going to fight in 11 seats.

Face-to-face fight in almost every seat in Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan: The Congress and the BJP are fighting head-to-head in these four states, barring a few seats left for the alliance.

In Gujarat, BJP is contesting in 26 seats, Congress has announced candidates in only 24 seats. BJP won all the state seats in 2019.

In Karnataka, Congress is contesting all 28 seats. The BJP joined forces with the Janata Dal (Secular) to field candidates in three seats In at least 25 seats in the state, there will be a direct fight between the Congress and the BJP. In 2019, BJP won 25 seats. Congress got 1 seat.

The two parties are fighting each other in 28 of the 29 seats in Madhya Pradesh. BJP has fielded candidates in all the seats. The Congress shares seats with the Samajwadi Party. The BJP won 28 seats in the last polls in the state. The Congress got one seat.

Same situation in Rajasthan. Out of 25 Lok Sabha seats, two parties are directly contesting 22 seats. The Congress has left three seats to its allies. In 2019, BJP won 24 seats in Rajasthan. Congress could not open the account.

Uttar Pradesh, the largest state with 80 Lok Sabha seats: Uttar Pradesh has the largest number of Lok Sabha seats, 80. Although preparations are underway in almost all constituencies, none of the parties have announced candidates in Kaiserganj and Rae Bareli.

The BJP will contest in both the seats. In Kaiserganj, the battle will be with the Samajwadi Party, in Rae Bareli against the Congress. SP and Congress are fighting in an alliance in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

The Congress will contest in 17 seats in Uttar Pradesh. The names of 15 candidates have been announced. Rae Bareli and Amethi are still left. On the other hand, BJP has announced 73 candidates. BJP has tied up with Apna Dal (Soneal) and Rashtriya Lok Dal (two seats) and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (one seat).

In 17 seats where the Congress is contesting, it is a direct fight with the BJP. BJP won 62 out of 80 seats in the 2019 elections. But all eyes will be on Varanasi. Congress has pitted Ajay Rai against Prime Minister Narendra Modi here. Hema Malini stands at Padma Prati in Mathura.

Apart from these constituencies, Kanpur, Saharanpur, Amroha, Ghaziabad, Bulandshahr, Fatehpur Sikri, Maharajganj, Deoria, Banshgaon, Sitapur, Jhansi, Allahabad, Barabanki, Rae Bareli and Amethi will see direct contest between the two parties.

Other States, Union Territories: In Jammu and Kashmir, the BJP is contesting all five seats, although three candidates are yet to be announced. In two seats, there will be a direct fight between the Congress and the BJP. Because the Congress is contesting in three seats in alliance with the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference. The Congress also got Ladakh in this seat sharing, in the election on May 20.

25 seats in Andhra Pradesh. The two parties are directly contesting only five seats – Annakapalli, Rajahmundry, Narasapuram, Tirupati and Rajampet. The BJP is contesting six seats, leaving 17 to the Telugu Desam Party and two to the Jana Sena Party.

The Congress has announced 11 candidates so far. The names of 12 candidates have not yet been announced. CPI and Communist Party of India (Marxist) left one seat each.

Similarly, Congress and CPIM are fighting hand in hand in Tripura. Contest one seat each. Direct fight between BJP and Congress on one seat in Tripura.

In Assam, the BJP has announced 11 candidates, leaving one seat each to allies Assam Gana Parishad (AGP) and United People’s Liberal Party (UPPL). BJP will fight directly with Congress in 10 seats. The Grand Old Party is contesting 13 of the 14 seats in the state.

In Bihar, the BJP is contesting 17 seats. Congress in nine seats. He left the rest of the seats for allies. A direct battle between two parties in five seats.

Out of 48 Lok Sabha constituencies in Maharashtra, BJP has announced candidates for 25 and Congress for 15 However, BJP is yet to finalize its list of candidates. The two parties are fighting each other in at least 15 seats
