Shimla: It will now be mandatory to obtain permission from the municipal company to hold an exhibition anywhere in Shlomo. A decision on this issue was made at the monthly meeting of the municipal society. Now, if this exhibition is organized without permission, strict action will be taken. Local merchants suffer losses due to the exhibitions. Apart from that, poor quality goods are also sold at the exhibitions, which in the future may also harm tourism in the city of Shimla.
Ashwini Sood, a candidate for the council of the Shemla Municipal Corporation, raised the issue of organizing exhibitions at the municipal corporation’s monthly meeting. Verma said that exhibitions are being organized in the ridge area due to which local traders are suffering losses. He proposed to close the exhibits at the monthly meeting. Other council members also agreed to this proposal.
Action against the sale of defective goods
Mayor of Shimla, Surendra Chauhan, said that goods of poor quality were being sold at the exhibition. At the exhibition, food products and gabions will not be presented. If a person is found selling these items, action will be taken against him under the RTI Act. The security of the person will be destroyed. We will tell you that even before that, 50 percent of security was confiscated by the municipal company.
70 lacs were earned from the exhibition
Shimla Municipal Corporation Commissioner Bhupendra Attri said that there is no need for permission to hold an exhibition in the commercial complex. A proposal has already been accepted in the House, although earlier it was agreed that food and tights should not be displayed at exhibitions. Rental fees are charged on a daily basis for holding exhibitions in commercial complexes. Last year, the municipal corporation earned 70 lakh from this, due to which the bill for 16 thousand street lamps of the city was deposited.
