Achi news desk-Bhaskar News In Rohtak PGI, 7000 patients come to the OPD every day to see doctors from different departments. Of these, around 2000 patients have a blood test along with other important tests every day. But, it is surprising that in PGI, which has a budget of crores of rupees and provides treatment to such a large number of patients, the testing machines which were lying broken for more than a year have not been repaired so far. In such a situation, around 450 patients have to spend Rs 1000 to 1500 every day to be tested from outside. On one hand, this puts an additional burden on the patients’ pockets, on the other hand, they also face difficulty in getting the reports. Besides this, who can speak about the quality of the report. In order to place an implant in the bone in the ortho section, a bone mineral density test must first be carried out. This shows the strength of the hood at the implant site. But, this machine has been lying broken for about a year. During this time, the doctor, based on his experience, performs the operation after seeing the condition of the bone. Or if there is doubt, an external investigation is requested. In this regard the patient has to spend around Rs 1500. PGI had demanded a Dexa machine for this. But no response has been given by the government. ^A call has been sent for all the machines that are out of order in the hospital. Some permission has been received. They will be bought soon. For the patient to get better treatment. They don’t have to go out and get tested. – Dr. Shamsher Singh Lohchab, Director, PGIMS The machine used to test glaucoma in PGI is out of order for about 6 months. While 700 patients have OPD here every day. Most of these need to be investigated. In such a situation, patients are asked to have an outside test. In this regard, the patients spend Rs 1000 to 1200. For this, a demand for a machine worth around Rs 40 lakh was sent by PGI. The government also approved. But, the process of buying the machine has not started yet. Because of this, patients face difficulty in getting treatment for cataract.
