A plan to privatize 5 profitable power companies has been prepared. According to Ministry of Privatization sources, the power companies include Lesco, Fesco, Isco, Mapco and Gapco.
In the first step, it was decided to form a new board from these companies, the 12 member board has sent the summary to the cabinet for final approval.

According to Ministry of Privatization sources, these 12 members will be the directors of the five boards, these members will take care of all the matters including privatization.
According to the sources, the proposal of the Ministry of Energy to privatize loss-making companies was rejected. Sources say privatization of discos is likely to make electricity more expensive.
