An amount of Rs 27 lakh 26 lakh 40 thousand has been sanctioned for the first lot of PACS. The government has also fixed the support price for procurement of wheat this financial year. This year, purchases will be made at the rate of Rs 2,275 per quintal. District Cooperative Officer Ajay Kumar Bharti said that from the scheduled declared date to June 15, 2024, PACS and trade councils will procure wheat from farmers. For the purchase of wheat, a CC was given in one lot per pack. Each parcel got 9 lakh 60 thousand cc. If necessary, the amount of CC can be increased further. He said this year a target has been set to procure 8456 metric tonnes of wheat in the district. If any PACS or trade body is more successful in procurement of wheat, he will be encouraged. The benefits of government schemes will also be extended to him.The procurement of wheat has started from April 15. So far, 18.2 MT of wheat has been procured from only two farmers. In this financial year, the district is in the second place in the country, where 1019 farmers are registered in the portal, according to him, the payment will be made to the farmers’ accounts within 48 hours.
