Senior BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani has been awarded the country’s highest civilian honor ‘Bharat Ratna’. President Draupadi Murmu honored Advani with Bharat Ratna at his residence in Delhi. Meanwhile, the Congress on Sunday attacked Prime Minister Modi, saying the prime minister had insulted President Draupadi Murammu.

Congress leader Jairam Ramesh shared pictures of President Murmu presenting the Bharat Ratna to Advani at his residence. In the pictures, senior BJP leaders LK Advani and Prime Minister Modi are sitting on chairs, while President Muramu is standing and passing the citation to the BJP leader.
Prime Minister Modi insulted the President – Jairam Ramesh
Jairam Ramesh said in his message along with the pictures that our president was insulted. Prime Minister Narendra Modi should definitely have stood up. Addressing the All India rally at Ramlia Maidan, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav said that Prime Minister Modi did not even stand up to respect the President and alleged that the BJP has no faith in the Constitution.

It is noteworthy that President Muramu on Sunday honored the former deputy prime minister and senior BJP leader with the country’s highest civilian honor Bharat Ratna at his residence. The ceremony was attended by Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah and members of Advani’s family, Rashtrapati Bhavan said in a Twitter post.
