Soon the cure for the corona virus will be revealed to the whole world. The World Health Organization (WHO) has established the Corona Virus Network (Covinet), in which the search will begin in India’s scientists and laboratories in collaboration with 21 countries. Scientists from the Pune-based National Institute of Virology (NIV) are representing India.
At the first meeting held in Geneva on March 26, scientists together concluded an action plan for the year 2024-2025. Member States around the world will have to implement this. Dr. Pragya Yadav, senior scientist at NIV Pune, said that the new WHO network includes a total of 36 laboratories from all six of its regional countries. In the coming days, studies on early detection, risk assessment and response to challenges related to Corona will be conducted here.
The network will help in making future decisions: WHO
According to the World Health Organization, Covinate’s goal is to find timely detection and treatment of the coronavirus and its subforms. The world’s leading laboratories for phenotypic and genotypic evaluation have been brought together on one platform so that everyone can act together against it. The data generated and synthesized through this network will inform the decisions of their Technical Advisory Groups on Viral Evolution (TAG-VE) and Vaccine Structure (TAG-CO-VAC).
