A 12th century idol of Krishna playing a flute was found in a pit dug during the construction of a house in Khedmakta village in Brahmapuri taluk of Chandrapur district, 121 km from Nagpur in Maharashtra.
Ganjanan Manakar, the owner of the construction site, said that construction of a toilet was going on in the house. After digging a pit about 7 feet deep, the workers noticed a large black stone. If you look at it again, Lord Krishna has given you darshan.

When the stone was removed, carvings were seen under the soil. The locals said that they were surprised to see the idol of Lord Krishna standing in the posture of playing the flute. The idol is beautifully carved in stone. The villagers gathered and immediately started worshiping the idol.
An idol belonging to the 12th century!
This idol belongs to the Chalukya dynasty of the 12th century AD. The idol is made of black stone in southern style. It is possible that someone from the south of the country brought it here. However, during these excavations we did not find any remains of the temple.
