This time Rabi season crops were affected due to hailstorm in the area. Because of this the color and shape of the wheat became dull. The government has refused to buy damaged wheat at the support price citing FCI rules. This is the reason why instead of selling at a support price, farmers sell their produce directly in the market. However, Food and FCI officials reached Khandwa on Wednesday and inspected the procurement centres. During the investigation, the officers expressed disappointment in the eye tracking.

The investigation team purchased wheat from the centers for further action.
