Fact Check –
News18 Bengal’s fact-checking team has checked and found that the viral video clip has been digitally altered. By carefully analyzing the viral clip, we found inconsistencies in that video. For example – lip syncing, discontinuity and unusual pauses in Rahul Gandhi’s speech.

Searching further, we found the original video uploaded on May 10, 2024 on the official YouTube channel of the Indian National Congress (INC). It is a joint election rally between Kanpur India Samajwadi Bloc Party President Akhilesh Yadav and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. It was held in Kanauj and Kanpur on May 10 ahead of the fourth phase of elections around the Kanpur-Bundelkhand region on May 13.
The original version of the viral clip can be viewed at video timestamp 01.00 minutes. Where Rahul Gandhi said: “Let me tell you something that the mainstream media will never tell you. On June 4, 2024, Narendra Modi will not be able to retain his post as the Prime Minister of India. Write it down.” He said – “Narendra Modiji will not be elected Prime Minister again.”
Going further, we found a video posted on May 15, 2024 on the official X handle of the Congress Party, which talks about a comparative analysis between the manipulated video and the original. It reads – “The fake news factory of BJP and Narendra Modi now has to rely only on fake videos. As per his practice, he edited Rahul Gandhi’s speech and created a fake video. Then he was caught red-handed.”

Rahul Gandhi’s speech at the Kanpur rally was widely covered by various media such as The Times of India, Mojo Story and The Indian Express. The time stamp shows Gandhi talking to Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav after 45.50 minutes.
So, it is clear that the viral clip of Rahul Gandhi being shared predicting the victory of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the 2024 elections has been digitally manipulated.
