A 4-day-old boy killed by his grandmother: A 55-year-old woman from Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, was arrested by the police on Thursday. According to sources, the woman allegedly strangled to death her 4-day-old granddaughter, who was born last month. The police said that the woman murdered the child only because she was born with defects, even though the child’s mother did not want it.
This incident took place in Lashkar area of Gwalior police station. Superintendent of Police Ashok Singh Jadon told PTI that the child was born on March 23. The girl was born with physical deformities, because of which her grandmother killed her to save herself the trouble of raising her.

CSP said, ‘The girl was murdered four days after her birth. The police received a complaint about his death from the mother. After receiving the complaint, we started an investigation and sent the body for a post-mortem. We received the report today and the cause of death is suffocation.
CSP Jadaun said, ‘Based on this report and our investigation, we have arrested the child’s grandmother. He was charged with murder.
