The West Bengal governor said he was ready to show the CCTV footage of the Raj Bhavan to 100 people in a case of alleged harassment of women. However, he also said that he would not show the CCTV camera footage to the Kolkata Police and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. It is worth noting that a female employee appointed on contract at Raj Bhavan filed a complaint with the Kolkata Police alleging sexual harassment at Raj Bhavan. Based on the woman’s complaint, the Kolkata Police formed a team to investigate the matter.

The police are accused of “government clutches”

According to the news, the police called Raj Bhavan employees for questioning, but no one turned up on the first day. According to the reports, the governor also ordered the employees not to cooperate with the police in this matter. In a statement issued by the Raj Bhavan on Wednesday, it was claimed that the police acted on the instructions of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. In such a situation, he is willing to show the CCTV footage to 100 people besides these two.

Statement on the allegation of non-display of CCTV footage

In a statement released by Raj Bhavan on social media handle-X, it said that the police allegations are fabricated. To reveal this, the governor launched the program ‘Sach Ka Samana’. Describing the police investigation as illegal and unconstitutional, Raj Bhavan said the allegations of not showing CCTV footage of an incident were untrue.

Preparation for showing a video on Thursday

Governor Kurat Haim Anand Bose said that the video clip will be shown to 100 people in the Raj Bhavan complex itself. According to him, requests to join the program can be made via e-mail or phone. Raj Bhavan said 100 people would be allowed to watch CCTV footage on Thursday morning.
