NEW DELHI: The High Court has issued an order canceling the employment of 24 thousand teachers in the Bengal school jobs scam case. Also ordered to return 8 years salary in 4 weeks. Now West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has moved the Supreme Court against the High Court order. Didi’s government, which is about to save the jobs of 24 thousand people, has urged the Supreme Court to suspend the decision of the Calcutta High Court. Accused of an arbitrary decision

Mamata Banerjee’s West Bengal government is challenging the High Court’s decision to cancel nearly 24,000 teaching and non-teaching staff appointments made in 2016 in the Supreme Court. In its petition to the Supreme Court, the state government alleged that the High Court had arbitrarily canceled the appointments on the basis of oral arguments and without any affidavit on record. The state government has demanded a stay of the High Court judgement. The government said that this decision was taken in complete disregard of the facts.

Order for reimbursement of wages

The Calcutta High Court on Monday canceled all the recruitments made through the selection process of State Level Selection Test-2016 (SLST) in West Bengal state government and government aided schools. declare it ‘invalid’. The High Court ruling is illegal

Earlier, Mamata Banerjee herself had said that the High Court order was illegal and her government would challenge it in the Supreme Court. Meanwhile, West Bengal School Service Commission (SSC) chairman Siddharth Majumdar said on Monday that he will challenge the order of the Calcutta High Court to cancel all recruitments made during the teacher recruitment exam 2016. The High Court has directed Commission West Bengal School Service (SSC) to start a new recruitment process.

What is a teacher recruitment scam?

More than 23 lakh candidates appeared for the SLST-2016 examination which was held for the recruitment of 24,640 vacancies. A total of 25,753 recruitment letters were distributed to fill these posts. But there were allegations of irregularities in the examination process for the recruitment of teachers. It was claimed that candidates with lower ranks were also included in the merit list. In addition, there was a controversy that people whose names were not on the merit list were given the appointment letter.
