The BJP candidate from Krishnanagar, Amtra Roy, who is contesting the fourth phase in West Bengal, is the richest candidate. Whereas TMC candidate Shatrughan Sinha is in second place. Apart from these two, 21 candidates contesting for eight Lok Sabha seats also have assets worth more than Rs 1 crore. The richest candidate in the list is from TMC and the second is from BJP. At the same time, the candidate with least assets is Jagannath Sarkar.
According to reports by the West Bengal Election Watch and the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR), the candidate affidavits revealed that a total of 75 candidates are in the fray for eight Lok Sabha seats. BJP candidate Roy is the richest among these candidates. He has assets worth Rs 554 crore. Whereas TMC’s candidate for Asansol is Shatrughan Sinha, whose net worth is Rs 210 crore. At the same time, the total assets of Yusuf Pathan, the candidate from Baharampur, stand at 45 million rupees. Patten is in third place on the list of richest candidates.
Seven TMC and six BJP candidates are millionaires.
If we talk about party, TMC is at number one. Seven TMC candidates are crorepatis. At the same time, BJP is in second place, whose six candidates have assets worth more than Rs 1 crore. Two candidates each from SUCI (C), Congress and CPI (M) also have assets worth more than Rs 1 crore. Apart from this, one candidate each from BSP and Indian National Socialist Action Force also got a place in this list.
