Weekend traffic: These roads in the Montreal area will be closed Achi-News

Those traveling in and around Montreal this weekend should note that major construction projects will cause route restrictions throughout the area, including at the Ville-Marie Viger Tunnels, on the Papineau-Leblanc Bridge and on Route 13 South in Belval.

Drivers are advised to check a trip planner app like Waze before leaving.

Ville-Marie Highway (R-136), including tunnel

From midnight Friday until 5 a.m. Monday, the following closures will be in effect on the eastbound section of the freeway:

  • In the Ville-Marie district, the Ville-Marie Freeway (R-136) eastbound between Exit 2 (Atwater Avenue) and the Atateken Street entrance.

Closures in the Ville-Marie Tunnel between May 10 and 13, 2024.

As a result, the following are default closures at the Turcot interchange:

  • Route 20 east ramp leading to Ville-Marie (R-136) eastbound.
  • The 15 Freeway north ramp to Ville-Marie (R-136) eastbound.
  • The entrance to the Tanners Boulevard to Ville-Marie (R-136) to the east.

The default closures in the Ville-Marie Tunnel are as follows:

  • Entrances from Notre Dame / De la Catedral and Boulevard Robert Bourasse / Highway 10 West (Bonaventure).

From Friday at 11:00 PM until Monday at 5:00 AM, the following closures will be in effect on the west side of the Ville-Marie:

  • Freeway Ville-Marie (R-136) to the west, between the beginning of the freeway and the entrance to rue Lucien-L’Allier.

The Viger tunnel will be closed from 10 to 13 May 2024.

As a result, the following closures are default starting Friday at 10:30 p.m.:

  • The eastern entrances of rue Hôtel-de-Ville / Sanguinet and rue Saint-Antoine.

Papineau-Leblanc Bridge / Highway 19

  • From Friday at 10:00 p.m. to Monday at 4:30 a.m., the Papineau-Leblanc Bridge (A-19) will be closed in both directions between Montreal’s Ahuntsic-Cartierville district and Laval.

The Papineau-Leblanc Bridge is closed from May 10 to 13, 2024.

As a result, the following closure is the default from 21:30:

  • Interstate 440 is eastbound and westbound to Interstate 19 southbound.
  • Saint-Martin, de la Concorde and Levesque entrances to Highway 19 southbound.

Route 13

From Friday at 10:00 PM to Saturday at 8:00 AM and Saturday at 11:00 PM to Sunday at 9:00 AM, there will be the following road restrictions:

towards the south

  • In Bellevue, three out of four lanes will be closed on Route 13 southbound between Exit 12 (Notre Dame Boulevard, Samson Boulevard) and the Louis-Bison Bridge.
  • On Saturday, between the hours of 8:00 and 23:00, one of the four lanes on Highway 13 south along the same stretch will be closed.
  • On Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., two of four lanes on Route 13 southbound will be closed in the same span.

northbound

  • From Sunday at 9:00 p.m. to Monday at 4:30 a.m., two of three lanes on Route 13 northbound in Montreal’s Saint-Laurent-Laval borough will be closed between Boulevard Henri-Bourasse and Exit 12 (Blvd. Samson, Notre-Dame), including the Louis-Bison bridge.
  • As a result, exit 12 is a default highway closure.

Highway 132 / Highway 138 Interchange (Kahnawake)

  • From Friday at 10:00 PM until Monday at 5:00 AM, the service road leading from Route 132 West to Route 138 East under the Mercier Bridge will be closed.

Route 116 (Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville)

  • From Friday at 8 p.m. until Monday at 6 a.m., one lane will be open in each direction on westbound 116 between Route 30 and Seigneurial Boulevard West.

Metropolitan Express Network (REM)

  • On Saturday May 11 and Sunday May 12, between 5.30am and 7.30am, the REM service will be unavailable due to a systems update. Buses will be provided during this period.

Route 15 (Nuns Island Bridge)

  • On Saturday and Sunday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., one of the four lanes will be closed on Highway 15 northbound at the Nuns Island Bridge.

Laurentians road (A-15) – Laval

  • Through July, paving work on Route 15 at the Medrick-Martin Bridge will cause some route changes.

Route 20 (du Souvenir) – Interchange at Pointe-Claire

  • Until the end of July, the Sderot Mekorou ramp to Route 20 West is closed.
  • The Donegani Avenue ramp leading to Sources Boulevard is closed until May 27.

Route 440 (Jean-Noël Lavoie) in Valval

  • Paving works on road 440 towards the east, between road 13 and Sderot Industrii Belav. The work will be spread over about 30 weeks.

Route 40 (Félix-Leclerc) in Baie-D’Urfé and Kirkland

  • Paving work on eastbound Interstate 40 between Morgan Boulevard in Baie-D’Urfé and Saint-Charles in Kirkland will cause traffic disruptions. Partial or full evening or night closures will be required.

Cote-de-lis road

  • Until July, eastbound Côte-de-Liesse Road will be partially closed between Sunset and Athlone Roads in the Mount Royal Township sector.

Route 13 (Chomedey) in Valval

  • Paving work on Highway 13 (Chumday) in Valvale, between the Louis-Bison Bridge and Notre Dame Boulevard, will continue until the end of June.

Guy-Lefleur road (A-50) in Mirabel

  • Works to replace the lighting systems on the Guy-Lefleur road (A-50) in Mirabel, between road 117 (Cure-Labelle avenue) and Louis-Bison road, as well as at the Laurentians road interchange (A-15) will result in this. Some closures and traffic disruptions.

Route 520 and Hickmore Street

  • The restoration work on highway 520 (Côte-de-Liesse) above Hickmore Street will continue until the end of the year.
