Weekend traffic: Here are the road closures in the Montreal area Achi-News

Those planning to travel in and around Montreal this weekend should note that some road closures will be in effect due to construction work.

Specifically, work on the West Island’s Ile-au-Tour Bridge and the Papineau-Blanc Bridge between Laval and Montreal will cause closures.

Ile-au-Tour Bridge / Highway 40

  • From Thursday midnight to Friday 5 a.m., and Friday midnight to Monday 5 a.m., the bridge will be closed between Vaudreuil-Dorion and Sanville on the island of Montreal.

As a result, the following closure is the default starting at 11:00 p.m.:

  • At the A-30 / A-40 interchange, the east ramp of Highway 40.
  • The entrances to Boulevard Saint-Charles/ Boulevard Citadel-de-Jones and Rue Chenault.
  • The entrances of the avenue Sainte-Marie and the avenues Morgan and Anciens-Combattants.

On Monday, two out of three lanes will be open for peak traffic periods in each direction according to the following schedule:

  • Towards Montreal (east), midnight to 10 am on weekdays.
  • Towards Vaudreuil-Dorion (west), from noon to 10pm on weekdays and weekends.

Papineau-Leblanc Bridge / Highway 19

  • From Friday at 10:00 p.m. to Monday at 4:30 a.m., the bridge will be closed in both directions between Montreal’s Ahontsic-Cartierville district and Laval.

As a result, the following default closures will be in effect as of 9:30 p.m.:

  • The 440 Freeway is eastbound and westbound to Route 19 South.
  • The Saint-Martin, de la Concorde and Levesque entrances to Highway 19 southbound.

Route 13

  • From Friday at 11:00 p.m. until Monday at 3:30 a.m., the Notre Dame and Samson exit (12) on Route 13 north of Belvedere will be completely closed.
  • Also, three out of four lanes will be closed on Route 13 North between the Lewis-Bisson Bridge and the Shimshon Boulevard exit (12) from Friday at 11:00 p.m. to Saturday at 8:00 a.m.; from Saturday at 23:00 to Sunday at 9:00; and from Sunday at 21:00 until Monday at 3:30 in the morning.

Bonaventure Highway (A-10)

  • In the southwest borough of Montreal, two lanes will be open in each direction on eastbound Bonaventure between Shell Basin and Victoria Bridge from Monday, May 27 at 5 a.m. until Thursday, August 15.

Marcel-Laurin Boulevard (R-117)

  • In Montreal’s Saint-Laurent and Cartierville boroughs, Boulevard Marcel-Laurent (R-117) will be closed in both directions, between Boulevard Dakari and Rue Saint-Louis, from Saturday at 5:00 p.m. to Sunday at 11:00 a.m.

Metropolitan Express Network (REM)

  • On Saturday, May 25 and Sunday, May 26, between the hours of 5:30 am and 7:30 am, the REM service will be unavailable due to a systems update. Buses will provide service during this period.

Laurentians Highway (A-15) in Valvale

  • Until next July, paving and slab repair work on the Laurentians Road (A-15), at the Medrick-Martin Bridge will cause delays.

Interchange (A-20) in Pointe-Claire

  • Until the end of July, there is a long-term closure of the ramp from Sderot Mekoorim to Highway 20 west.
  • The ramp from Dongani Avenue to Mekorot Boulevard will remain closed until May 27.

Route 440 (Jean-Noël Lavoie) in Valval

  • Construction work on road 440 to the east, between road 13 and Sderot Industrii Belab, will cause route changes and delays for about 30 weeks.

Route 40 (Félix-Leclerc) in Baie-D’Urfé and Kirkland

  • Eastbound pavement reconstruction work on Interstate 40 between Morgan Boulevard in Baie-D’Urfé and Saint-Charles Boulevard in Kirkland will cause traffic disruptions.

Route 13 (Chomedey) in Valval

  • The construction works of Highway 13 (Chomedey) in Valvale, between the Louis-Bison Bridge and Notre Dame Boulevard will cause traffic disruptions until the end of June.

Guy-Lefleur road (A-50) in Mirabel

  • There will be work to replace the lighting systems on the Guy-Lefleur road (A-50) in Mirabel between road 117 (Cure-Labelle boulevard) and Louis-Bison road, as well as at the interchange with the Laurentians road (A-15). in different closures.

Highway 520 and Hickmore Street

  • Rehabilitation work on Highway 520 (Côte-de-Liesse) above Hickmore Street will continue until the end of 2024. This will result in some closures.

All works may be canceled or changed due to weather or operational limitations.
