Two types of weather are seen in Israel. While in more than half of the country, including Bihar and Jharkhand, people are burning due to fire falling from the sky and a heat wave blowing with the help of a westerly wind, there is heavy rain and snow in the Himalayan regions from Jammu and Kashmir to the northeast. The plains of northwest India have received a respite from the scorching heat, but are facing severe thunderstorms along with water and hail storms.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Punjab for heavy rain at some places, hail storm at many places and heavy snowfall in high altitude areas for the next two days. Haryana, the national capital Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, North Rajasthan, North and West Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha of Maharashtra, the Himalayan region of West Bengal, North Eastern states including Sikkim, Arunachal and some parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and some parts of Lakshadweep . A yellow warning was given for light and heavy rains, thunderstorms and hail storms in some places. In many of these areas it rained with thunder on Sunday and in some places there was even lightning. Snow fell on the mountains.

Red alert for heat wave in Odisha

It is very hot in the eastern, central and southern regions of the country. Heatwave conditions are prevailing in Ganga coastal areas of Odisha and West Bengal for the last 15 days. Currently, many areas in both countries are in the grip of extreme heat. The meteorological department has issued a red alert for heat waves and intense heat in Jharkhand and Odisha for the next two days and an orange alert for Bihar. Apart from this, scorching heat and heat waves are also occurring in interior areas of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, isolated areas of Kerala and many areas of Maharashtra. Due to the heat wave in Tripura, all schools were closed till May 1.

Bangalore is rocking

The country’s IT hub, Bengaluru, is reeling under the scorching heat after the water crisis. The maximum temperature of the metropolis reached 38.5 degrees Celsius on Sunday. That’s more than 4 degrees above normal. CP Patil, director of IMD’s Bangalore center, said the maximum temperature in the city was recorded on Saturday at 37.4 degrees Celsius, which is 3.3 degrees above normal. So far, the maximum temperature in Bangalore has reached 39.2 degrees Celsius, which was recorded on 25 April 2016.

The temperature will be 42-45 degrees in these areas

According to IMD, the maximum temperature is expected to remain between 42-45 degrees Celsius at several places in Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and Telangana for the next five days. At the same time, in many parts of Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, interior parts of Maharashtra, North Tamil Nadu, Marathwada, East Uttar Pradesh, Ganga banks of West Bengal, the maximum temperature could remain between 40-42 degrees Celsius.

Snow storm in Jammu and Kashmir, 35 vehicles stuck

While a heat wave is prevalent in more than half of the country, people are worried about snowfall in the mountains. The high altitude areas of Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal and Uttarakhand are prone to snowfall. Along with the snow, a blizzard is also raging in Jammu and Kashmir. Due to this change in weather, 35 vehicles were badly stuck in snow at Razdan Top in Bandipura. After much effort, the Border Roads Organization (BRO) rescued these vehicles safely. BRO officials said these vehicles got stuck due to snow and ice storm.
