New Delhi (April 18): Voting for the first phase of Lok Sabha elections will be held on April 19. In this phase, voting will be held for 102 seats in 21 states and Union Territories. In the first phase, the electoral fate of eight members of Narendra Modi’s cabinet, three former prime ministers and one former governor will be decided. Who are the key players in the first phase? Here are the details

Voting in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Andaman and Nicobar, Jammuks and Kahadpashp , Will Puducherry in the first phase. In the first phase, the voting will be held for 102 seats in these states.

How many seats from which state will be voted?

Looking at which constituencies of the state will go to polls in the first phase, eight constituencies in Uttar Pradesh – Saharanpur, Kairana, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Nagina, Moradabad, Rampur and Pilibhit.

Three seats in West Bengal – Cooch Behar, Alipurduar and Jalpaiguri. Four seats in Bihar – Aurangabad, Gaya, Nawada and Jammu. Place in Jammu and Kashmir – Udhampur.

Five seats in Maharashtra – Ramtek, Nagpur, Bhandara-Gondia, Gadchiroli-Chimur, Chandrapur. Six seats in Madhya Pradesh – Sidhi, Shahdol, Jabalpur, Mandla, Balaghat, Chhindwara. Five seats in Assam – Kaziranga, Sonitpur, Lakhimpur, Dibrugarh, Jorhat.

Place in Chhattisgarh – Bastar. 12 Rajasthan seats – Ganganagar, Bikaner, Churu, Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Jaipur Rural, Jaipur, Alwar, Bharatpur, Karauli-Dholpur, Dausa, Nagaur. Place in Tripura – Tripura West.

There are two seats in Manipur. Voting for the Inner Manipur seat will be held on April 19 in the first phase. Voting will be conducted in two phases in the Outer Manipur constituency. Voting will be held on April 19 in some assembly constituencies and on April 26 in some constituencies.

Simultaneous voting in all Tamil Nadu constituencies

There are 39 Lok Sabha seats in Tamil Nadu and voting for each seat will be held in one phase on April 19.

These include Thiruvallur, Chennai North, Chennai South, Chennai Central, Sriperambadur, Kanchipuram, Arakkonam, Vellore, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Thiruvannamalai, Arani, Vilupuram, Kalakuruchi, Salam, Namakkal, Erode, Tiruchirappalli, Peraluluramambai, Nakorambai, Chiramabudi , Peraluluramambali, Nakoramambai, Nakoramamba, Chiramabud, Peraluluramambalai , Thanjavur, Sivagangai, Madurai, Theni, Virudhunagar, Ramanathapuram, Thoothukudi, Thenkashi, Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari.

There are five constituencies in Uttarakhand and voting will be held for all these constituencies in the first phase. These seats are- Tehri Garhwal, Garhwal, Almora, Nainital-Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar.

Arunachal Pradesh has two seats – Arunachal East, Arunachal West. Place in Andaman – Andaman Nicobar Islands. Lakshadweep-and where- Lakshadweep.

Two seats in Meghalaya- Shillong, Tura. Mizoram is a place- Mizoram. Where is Nagaland – Nagaland. Puducherry is a place – Puducherry. Place is Sikkim- Sikkim.

All these ministers are contesting the elections in the first period

* Nitin Gadkari

Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari is contesting from Nagpur constituency in Maharashtra. Gadkari is trying to achieve a hat-trick from here. He won this seat for the first time in 2014.

In that election, Gadkari had defeated Congress leader Vilas Muttemwar, a seven-time MP. In the 2019 elections, Gadkari defeated Congress candidate Nana Patole. Congress has played the role of Vikas Thackeray this time. He is the MLA from Nagpur West.

* Kiran Rijiju

Union Minister for Earth Science and Food Processing Industries Kiren Rijiju contested from Arunachal West constituency. Rijiju won from this constituency for the first time in 2004. But he had to face defeat in 2009 elections. After this, Rijuju won 2014 elections. He won the election from Arunachal West constituency in 2019. This time he’ n facing the former chief minister and state president of Arunachal Pradesh Congress, Nabam Tuki.

* Sarbananda Sonewal

Ports, Shipping and Waterways Union, AYUSH Minister Sarbananda Sonewal is a candidate from Assam’s Dibrugarh Lok Sabha constituency. BJP has fielded Sonowal as its candidate from this constituency by canceling the ticket of Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Rameshwar Teli. Sonowal is currently a member of Rajya Sabha. He is also a former Chief Minister of Assam. He won the 2014 election from Lakhimpur constituency. Sonowal was also a minister in Narendra Modi’s first government.

* Dr. Sanjeev Balyan

The Minister of State for Ministry of Fisheries, Veterinary and Dairy in the Narendra Modi Government Dr. Sanjeev Balyan is contesting from Muzaffarnagar constituency. Balian was first elected to the position in 2014.

He had won from this constituency in 2019 as well. In that election Chaudhary defeated Ajit Singh of Rashtriya Lok Dal. This time he is facing Samajwadi Party candidate Harendra Malik of Indian Alliance and Dara Singh Prajapati of BSP.

* Jitendra Singh

Minister of State in the Chief Minister’s Office Dr Jitendra Singh is contesting from the Udhampur-Katua-Doda constituency in Jammu and Kashmir. In short this seat is known as Udhampur seat.

The seat consists of five districts – Kathua, Kishtwar, Ramban, Udhampur and Doda district. Dr Singh is trying to achieve a hat trick by winning this position for the third time. This time he is facing Chaudhary Lal Singh of Congress. He won elections from this constituency in 2004 and 2009.

* Bhupendra Yadav

Union Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Bhupendra Yadav is contesting from the Alwar constituency in Rajasthan. He is pitted against Congress’s Lalit Yadav. He is MLA from Mundawar assembly constituency in Alwar.

Baba Balak Nath had won the Alwar Lok Sabha election in 2019. Baba Balak Nath was elected MLA in the assembly elections held last year. This is Bhupendra Yadav’s first Lok Sabha election. He has been a member of the Rajya Sabha since 2012.

* Arjun Ram Meghwal

Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal is contesting from Bikaner Lok Sabha constituency in Rajasthan. His contest is against former Congress Minister Govind Ram Meghwal.

Bahujan Samaj Party has introduced Khet Ram Meghwal. Arjun Ram Meghwal first won this seat in 2009. He also won the 2014 and 2019 elections.

Former First Minister of the constituency

* Biplab Kumar Deb

Former Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb is contesting from West Tripura constituency. His competition there was State Congress President Ashish Kumar Saha. Before that, between 1996 and 2014, the constituency was dominated by the Marxist Communist Party. BJP had won this constituency for the first time in 2019. Pratima Bhowmik of BJP won that election.

* And Raja

A Raja of DMK contested from Nilgiri Lok Sabha constituency in Tamil Nadu. He was a minister in the Congress-led UPA-2 government. DMK MP Raja faces Dr L Murugan, Minister of State for the Union Ministry of Fisheries, Veterinary and Dairy. Raja had won from this constituency in 2009 as well.

Raja had won more than five lakh votes in the 2019 elections. Murugan is contesting the Lok Sabha elections for the first time. Murugan was elected to the Rajya Sabha from Madhya Pradesh in 2021.

* Karti Chidambaram

Karti Chidambaram is contesting from Sivagangai constituency in Tamil Nadu. He is the son of senior Congress leader and former Union Minister P Chidambaram. P Chidambaram has been MP from this constituency seven times. In 2014, Karti had to face defeat in this constituency. But he won the 2019 election. This time he is fighting against BJP’s T Devanathan Yadav and AIADMK’s Xavier Das.

* Annamalai

Tamil Nadu BJP president Annamalai is contesting from the Coimbatore Lok Sabha seat. There he faces competition from DMK leader Ganapathy P Rajkumar and AIADMK’s Singhai Ramachandran. Apart from AIADMK and DMK, CPI(M)-CPI dominates this field. CPI(M)’s PR Natarajan had won from here in the 2019 elections.

BJP candidate Annamalai is a former Indian Police Service officer. A large number of people participated in his rally. The eyes of the people who saw this were fixed on this seat.

* Tamilisai Soundarajan

Tamilisai Soundararajan, who has resigned from the post of Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry and Governor of Telangana, is the BJP candidate for Chennai South Lok Sabha constituency. It is the second largest Lok Sabha constituency in Tamil Nadu. It has more than 20 lakh voters. Here, Dr Tamilisai is fighting against DMK’s Tamizachi Thangapandian. Thangapandian had won the 2019 elections from here. But AIADMK Dr. Ticket issued to J. Jayawardhan. DMK has won this seat eight times.

Gaurav Gogoi’s seat has been changed to Congress

* Gaurav Gogoi

Congress has roped in Gaurav Gogoi from Jorhat constituency in Assam. He is the son of the former Chief Minister of the state Tarun Gogoi. BJP’s Tapan Kumar Gogoi won from here in the 2019 election by defeating Sushant of Congress. This is the first time the Congress leader is contesting the election.

Earlier, he had won the 2014 and 2019 elections in the Assam Kaliabar Lok Sabha constituency. Here, Gogoi faces a tough challenge from the BJP candidate. Ahom community has a large number of voters in this constituency. Both Congress and BJP candidates are from this community.

* Jatin Prasad

Jatin Prasad, a cabinet minister in the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh, is a candidate from Pilibhit. Outgoing MP Varun Gandhi’s ticket has been cut and BJP has made him its candidate. He is pitted against Samajwadi Party’s Bhagwat Sharan Gangwar and BSP’s Anees Ahmed Khan alias Phool Babu. Jatin Prasad left the Congress and joined the BJP. He is considered the Brahmin face of BJP in Uttar Pradesh.

* Nakul Nath

Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Nakul Nath, son of Kamal Nath, is contesting from Chhindwara. Kamal Nath has been the MP from this constituency nine times since 1980. In the 2019 elections, the Congress fielded Nakul Nath as its candidate in Chhindwara.

He defeated the BJP candidate by more than 37 thousand votes. Out of 29 seats in the state, the Congress won only this seat in that election. This time BJP has made district president Vivek Bunty Sahu as its candidate.

* Imran Masood

Congress leader Imran Masood is the India Alliance candidate from Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur constituency. This Lok Sabha constituency in Western Uttar Pradesh is hotly contested. Here, Masood fought against BJP MP Raghav Lakhanpal Sharma. Majid Ali of the Bahujan Samaj Party is in a three-cornered contest here. Masood’s uncle, Rashid Masood, was a five-time Lok Sabha MP.
