Vidyapati Smriti festival celebration on 4th and 5th May, a glimpse of Mithila culture and traditional food Achi-News

Achi news desk-City Correspondent Jamshedpur Mithila Cultural Council, Jamshedpur will organize Vidyapati Smriti Parv Samaroh-2024 on May 4-5 at Sakchi Buddhist Temple grounds. A glimpse of Mithila culture will be seen in the function. This information was given by the General Secretary of the Council, Sujit Jha. He said the ceremony will include Mithila food, clothes, art, culture and literature. The center attraction at the event will be Anand Mela with artists and women making live Madhubani paintings. The program will start at 6.30pm. Artifacts based on the history of Mithila will be on display. He said that Vikas Jha and Swati Jha have been invited from Delhi, Ramsevak Thakur, Rishabh Bhardwaj, Poonam Mishra from Darbhanga. Along with him, local bhajan singers Pankaj Jha, Shankaranath Jha will present dance songs and Maithili music. Siki Mauni handiwork will be on display: Madhubani Siki Mauni and Mithila handiwork books made in Uneu, Adouri-Tilauri and Maithili will also be on display. An Anand Mela will be organized on April 5, where women will serve traditional dishes from Mithila. All meals will be prepared and delivered from home. During this time, dishes like Tilkor, Sakrodi, Makhana Kheer, fish pickle, Varvari etc. will be available. The statue of Vidyapati will be unveiled on April 28 at the premises of the Mithila Cultural Council, Jamshedpur, Golmuri Vidyapati Bhawan. Rudrabhishek will be performed amidst the chanting of Vedic mantras from 1pm on Sunday afternoon. After this the statue will be unveiled at 6.30 pm.
