Born in 1964
Vice Admiral Tripathi was born on 15 May 1964. He joined the Indian Navy on 1 July 1985. Vice Admiral Tripathi, a communications and electronic warfare expert, has had a career spanning nearly 30 years.
Took command of INS Vinash
Before assuming the position of Deputy Chief of the Naval Staff, he was the quartermaster general of the Western Naval Command. He also commanded INS Vinash. Besides that, as rear admiral he was the naval officer in command of the Eastern Fleet. At the same time, he was also the Commandant of the Indian Naval Academy Azimala.
Also won the Navy Medal
A graduate of Sainik School and National Defense Academy Khadakwasala, Vice Admiral Tripathi has also completed courses at the Naval War College, Goa and the Naval War College, USA. He has also been awarded the Ati Vishesh Saba Medal (AVSM) and the Navy Medal.
