Bengaluru: Bengaluru Vijayapura Vande Bharat Express Train likely to be started between Bengaluru and Vijayapura via Bagalkot after electrification of the railway line. Through this, it is hoped that another facility will be available for traveling from North Karnataka to the state capital.
Electrification of Bagalkote-Vijaypur route should be completed by this month. Infrastructure Development Minister MB Patil has directed the officials that steps should be taken to reduce the travel time between Bangalore and Vijaypur from 14 hours to 10 hours.
Bangalore to Vijayapura is a 660 km train journey. Trains take around 14 hours to travel on this route. Trains on this route stop at Hubli for 45 minutes. In the same way time is wasted in Gadag too. Hence instructions have been given to take appropriate steps to prevent wastage of time.
