The case of alleged harassment of women in Sandashkali, West Bengal is under hearing. On the one hand, BJP accuses her of suppressing the truth and on the other hand, the Trinamool Congress which rules West Bengal has accused the opposition party BJP of spreading lies. The Trinamool Congress says they have complained to the Channel Commission in this regard. Referring to the alleged video, the Trinamool Congress on Thursday said a local BJP leader made some women sign blank papers. This was later presented as sexual harassment complaints against TMC leaders. Before this video went viral, a local party official claimed that the Leader of Opposition in the West Bengal Assembly, Swandu Adhikari, was behind this episode.

It is worth noting that on Saturday a video of a sting operation in Sandashkali surfaced. This further increased the controversy. In this purported video aired on a local TV channel, a man named Gangadhar Koyal is heard saying that Sandeshkhali’s women were not sexually assaulted, but were presented as ‘rape’ victims on the orders of opposition leader Swandu Adhikari. Koyal is reportedly the mandal (stand) president of the BJP.
