After the death of a contractor worker in the pump house under construction at Sector-9 Hospital of Bhilai Steel Plant, the family created an uproar. The family members demanded a compassionate appointment. Later, an agreement was reached between the contract company and them to pay a compensation amount of 9 lacs. Lal Bahadur Singh was a contract worker of Braithwaite Contract Company in SMS-2.

Even after serving in SMS-2, he was found dead in Sector-9 on the evening of 6 May.
