Ukrainian cheeses are losing competition to imported cheeses because of the high prices – AgroNews Achi-News

Local cheese producers are facing a decline in sales due to high prices of Ukrainian dairy products and increased imports. This is reported by the analytics company “Infagro”.

In March, cheese imports to Ukraine increased by more than 40%, and in April this index may increase by another 15-20%. As a result, the share of European cheeses already constitutes about a third of the total volume of sales in the Ukrainian market.

Despite the fact that the share of imports is still smaller than before the full-scale war, the situation forces manufacturers to take steps to maintain their position in the domestic market.
