Following the sudden departure this week of Quebec Solidaire’s co-spokesperson, Amelie Lessard-Tharrain, two of the party’s employees have resigned.

Communications director Gabrielle Bryce-Harvey and assistant general manager Keena Grégoire have left their positions, Novo Info reported Friday.

“Ms. Bryce-Harvey and Mr. Grégoire contributed their hearts and energy to our party for many years, both as activists and as workers. They were dedicated to helping the Solidaire project and ideas take root throughout Quebec, and helped bring our organization to where it is today,” said CEO “Lit QS, Miriam Fortin, by email.

In a Facebook post, Bryce-Harvey said that after 12 years of service in the party, it was time to find another person “who has the energy to lead the party in these turbulent times. It is no longer my case.”

The former communications director added that the last few days had been difficult for her and ended her post with words of encouragement to QS supporters “not to give up”.

Lessard-Threin announced her resignation on Monday, writing in a lengthy social media post that she was completely exhausted. The party announced on Thursday that Herbrooke MNA Christine Labrie would take the role.
