Bengaluru: The first phase of the Satellite Town Ring Road (STRR) from Dabaspet via Doddaballapur to Hoskote is likely to open for traffic in the first week of March. It connects three national highways – NH 48 Tumkur Road, NH 44 Bellary Road and NH 75 Bengaluru-Kolar Road.
Traffic potential on the STRR route
The construction work between Dabaspet and Doddaballapur is almost complete and NHAI hopes to complete the 80 km stretch from Dabaspet to Hoskote by the end of February. The Times of India reported that only 500-700 meters of road work is underway, NHAI Project Director KB Jayakumar said.

Motorists are using the partially open stretch between Doddaballapur and Hoskote as expected. The opening of the 80 km stretch is likely to reduce the number of trucks entering the city from Tumkur Road by 40-50%. As the road connects to major highways, trucks going to Bellary Road and Bangalore-Kolar Road will not enter. Officials said this will ease traffic in the city.

The toll fee for cars using the entire road is Rs 160. A toll plaza will be erected near Hulikunte between Dabaspet and Doddaballapur. 4 km work near Hoskote and integration of STRR with Bangalore-Chennai Expressway.
