2006: In order to restore tight security at the polling stations, forces of paramilitary forces, BSF and local police force, besides a cavalry team were deployed to patrol the Diara area. The security arrangements have become so tight. The members of the paramilitary force equipped with modern weapons will be deployed in marked polling stations on the day of voting.

There will be a total of 10 layers of security arrangements across the district on polling day. As part of it, a central paramilitary force, the Behar Police and the District Police will be deployed in three layers at the polling stations. There will be internet and video broadcasts in sensitive booths. After that, Sector, Police Station, Zonal, Super Zonal, District will be divided into 245 Sectors, 40 Zonals, 14 Super Zonals, two Sub Divisions and ARO level. Armed soldiers along with judges and police officers will be deployed at each level.

Apart from that, police officers will be deployed at the central intersections of the district headquarters and in other areas and will also continue patrolling. The same mounted BSF troopers keep an eye on anti-social elements by visiting Sadar village in Pathara block, Diara area and dams.
