The action created panic among the tenants with huge fees. Some shop owners asked for an extension, and received two to three days. There are many shopkeepers in the Mandaragarh Municipal Corporation area who have not deposited the rent of the municipal shops for years. At the same time, there are some shop owners who illegally rent the TMA stores in their name to others and collect the rent themselves, but do not deposit it in the TMA. The rent of the shops reached lakhs. In this regard, NPA has taken strict action against 17 shopkeepers. Out of this, travel of about 30 lakh rupees should be charged. The case against them was sent to the receiver on March 7. The Collector registered the case under RRC and authorized Manendragarh Tehsildar to take action. The defaulters concerned were served notice from the Tsildar Court on March 28. In the event that the violators were not present, a second notice was issued, giving them the last chance on April 4, warning them to take foreclosure action if they did not appear by April 8. Even after that, when the defaulters did not deposit the rent, on April 16, the NAPA team and Revenue sealed three NAPA stores. Kaushal Prasad Phoolchand’s shop, a number one shop located in Sabzi Mandi, which has a rent of Rs 2 lakh 30 thousand, has been closed. Similarly, shop number 12 Ubed Akhtar, located near the water supply house, owed Rs 1 lakh 99 thousand and shop number 13 Parvez Akhtar, which owed Rs 1 lakh 57 thousand as shop rent. Their shops were closed. During the sealing operation, Tehsildar Nirajkant Tiwari, Chief Municipal Officer Ishaq Khan, Assistant Revenue Inspector Amjad Khan and revenue employees of the Municipal Corporation were present.
