A loose tire hit a tour bus on the Queen Elizabeth Road in the Niagara Region, leaving one person dead and three others injured, paramedics said.
It happened Friday afternoon on the QEW to Toronto around the Garden City Skyway, prompting the closure of all Toronto lanes in Glendale.
A spokeswoman for Niagara paramedics told Global News that emergency crews were called at 3:21 p.m.
There were 38 people on board the tour bus. One person was pronounced dead at the scene, the spokesman said.

Three others were taken to a local hospital – one had serious injuries and the other two had minor injuries, the spokesman added.
Ontario Provincial Police said all lanes of the QEW bound for Toronto are expected to remain closed in the area until approximately 11 p.m.
