Former Calgary Canadian doctor and TikTok star Kimberley Nix, who had been battling a rare form of cancer called metastatic sarcoma for three years, died on May 8. Over the past few years, she documented her battle with cancer on TikTok and Instagram. She herself recorded a message about her death before dying. The influencer’s video has led to an emotional response from her followers. Kimberley was a beloved influencer with over 1.3 lakh followers, and her videos reached millions, inspiring many on the internet.
According to People, a video was uploaded on Kimberley Nix’s TikTok handle on May 8 itself. In the video, he said, “If you see this message, I have died peacefully.” To date, the clip has reached more than 4.6 million people on the platform. In the video, she explained how grateful she was for all the love she received until the end of her life.
Nix also went on to describe the most cherished parts of her life, which included her pets, her husband, Michael MacIsaac, her makeup, and her family and friends. She also explained how lucky she was to witness Taylor Swift’s Era’s Tour. She also acknowledged that she was extremely grateful to have grown a following on TikTok and revealed that it allowed her to “reach new heights in sarcoma awareness.”
The heartbreaking news was also shared by People on their official Instagram account. They captioned it, “Three years after being diagnosed with metastatic sarcoma, Dr. Kimberley Nix on Wednesday, May 8.” After hearing the news, many people on social media took to the comments section and expressed their condolences. One of the users wrote, “Prayers and love to hubby and all the family. Such a beautiful soul, rest in eternal peace.” Another user said, “It was devastating to the family and a beautiful life cut too short. Terrible.”
