“We encourage relevant countries to tell the truth about the South China Sea issue, as well as China’s territorial sovereignty, maritime rights, and the efforts of regional countries to maintain peace and stability in the South China Sea,” said Lin Jian.

India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar is currently on a visit to the Philippines. In a joint press conference after bilateral talks with Philippine Foreign Secretary Enrique Manalo on Tuesday, he reiterated India’s continued support to the Philippines in maintaining its national sovereignty. Every country has the right to maintain and enforce its national sovereignty. We have discussed this issue,” Jaishankar said.

The spat between India and China over the South China Sea has come to light at a time when the dispute between the two countries is at its peak due to China’s recent statements regarding Arunachal Pradesh. India has dismissed China’s claim that Arunachal Pradesh is part of its territory as absurd and ridiculous.
