This time BJP will take Odisha to the top if given a chance: Narendra Modi Achi-News

New Delhi: The Lok Sabha Election festival has begun in the country. The first phase of elections in Karnataka is over and now the second phase of elections has started. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a special interview to the News18 network (PM Modi To News18). In this he spoke about many other issues including questions relating to current politics.

In a very exclusive interview with News18 Network, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) should get a chance to serve Odisha, because we have that chance and we will take the state of Odisha to great heights.

Responding to a question from 18 Network Group Editor-in-Chief Rahul Joshi regarding no alliance with the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in the state of Odisha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the BJP has done its party work separately there. Like many other parties, BJD has given us issue-based support at the Centre,’ he said.

Elaborating on this, Modi said, ‘At the state level, Odisha is losing its self-respect. The Odia language is under threat. I don’t think the people of Odisha will tolerate this for much longer. He said the state has many resources.

Modi continued, ‘Today, Odisha is the richest state in India. But what kind of situation is there now? The common people of Odisha have aspirations. So I think we should have a chance to serve there. Then we will take Odisha to great heights’, he said.

Odisha will go to polls for 21 Lok Sabha seats as well as the 224 member state assembly in four phases on May 13, 20, 25, and June 1, where all parties are already campaigning. BJP and BJD have announced that they will not form an alliance for the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Odisha this time.

Urfi’s Latest Bold Look!

In the 2014 assembly elections, BJD won 112 seats, BJP won 23 seats and Congress won nine seats. On the other hand, in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, out of 21 Lok Sabha seats, BJD won 12 seats while BJP won 8 seats. The Indian National Congress (INC) party was content with just one seat.
