SP Rohit Kashwani said that during Navratri, a large number of girls and women go to temples from early morning to offer prayers. Keeping the safety of women in mind, mobile Shakti teams have been formed from Tuesday. In this regard, four police members on four bikes will be deployed in different temples of the city.
He said Shakti mobile teams will keep an eye on people around the temples from 5 am to 9 am and from 5 pm to 12 midnight. SP said that the purpose of forming mobile Shakti teams is to provide a safe environment for women and girls around religious places. So that no anti-social element can interfere with women going and coming to the temple.
He said that apart from Navratri, this system will be implemented during all the upcoming religious festivals. Last year also, mobile Shakti teams were formed by the police department.
