According to a statement issued by the University of Gehati, it stated, "The involvement of outside parties and rioters worsened the situation, and led to serious injuries. In light of the uncontrollable events, both hostels will remain closed with immediate effect."
To ensure the safety of the students and to restore order, the university arranged alternative accommodation in the hostel for the residents of RCC-1 and RCC-2. Students were given 48 hours, until 4:00 PM on October 2, to move to other hostels on campus. The university has assured that transportation facilities will be provided to facilitate the relocation process for the students.
The district administration and the local police also worked to maintain peace on campus. In a statement, Gehati University reaffirmed its commitment to ensure the safety of its students and avoid any further clashes.
Wardens from other hostels have been asked to help move students and ensure that mess facilities are immediately available. All shifts must be completed by October 2nd, and the final list of boarders will be submitted by October 5th.
