Tripura: Kidney transplant is going to start in Great Britain, which is the main referral hospital of Tripura state very soon. Chief Minister Manik Saha said the government had taken steps to develop it as a ‘centre of excellence’ in the field of health services.
A kidney transplant is going to start in Great Britain, which is that state’s main referral hospital very soon. This infrastructure is being built at a financial cost of 180 crores in the highly specialized block of the Great Britain Hospital.
The state government plans to develop this highly specialized block as a ‘centre of excellence’ in the field of medical services in the coming days. The Chief Minister of the State and the Minister of Health Professor Dr. Manik Saha gave this information after visiting different blocks of the Great Britain Hospital.

The Prime Minister Dr. Saha with the various infrastructures of the hospital including Great Britain Great Specialty Block, Nephrology Department, Generic Medicine Counter, Cardiology Department and made all the enquiries. The present government has given special priority to provide better medical services to people from all parts of the state.
The government has taken the initiative to organize the health system in this direction. Various state-of-the-art infrastructures are gradually being connected to the state’s main hospital in Great Britain. As part of this progression, the First Minister visited various important departments of the Great Britain Hospital on Thursday.
Later, the Prime Minister said that various infrastructure is being developed in this highly specialized block of Great Britain by allocating Tk 180 crore. The offices of the Medical Superintendent and Deputy Superintendent of Great Britain have been moved to this place. 7 highly specialized and outdoor wards will be made here.
Work is underway to speed up this process. A neurology and neurosurgery department was also visited. I inquire about various issues. The hospital authorities were also discussed to improve the services and infrastructure.
The various problems of health workers are also discussed. I will also be informed about the work of the Department of Works on issues relating to infrastructure. The provision of drinking water without iron in hospitals is also examined. In short, whatever is done will be done to make it a ‘centre of excellence’ in the field of medical services.
