News in the survey hundreds of liters of dirty water leave the city of Reiger every day. The dirty water leaving the city goes directly into the river through a drain. What was prevented from falling into the river was eased by the construction of sewage treatment plants on both sides of the river at a cost of millions of rupees. In this way we can purify dirty water and use it. Two years have passed since the establishment of the wastewater treatment facility, but three drains in the river are still putting dirty water into the Kelo River. This sewage treatment plant, built at a cost of Rs 68 crore 53 lakh, is unable to reach the water treatment system and pollutes the river by mixing it. A 25 MLD plant has been set up at Bajinpali and a seven MLD plant at Chhote Antarmuda. Every day, the dirty water coming from the drain is cleaned at a sewage treatment plant and released back into the river. At the same time, more dirty water reaches the plant than its capacity, which takes hours to purify. The drains left after the survey have not been connected so far. Because of this, dirty water from the drain returns to the river. If this continues, the municipal company will not receive any benefit from the establishment of a sewage treatment plant. A treatment facility was built at a cost of 68 million rupees. The plan to establish a wastewater treatment facility has been ongoing since 2010. It was approved in 2019. A work order was issued on June 25, 2019. After two years of construction, the drainage from the city that meets the Kello River was connected and sent to a wastewater treatment facility. Where it can be purified and used for industry and agriculture. The corporation has to spend a lakh of rupees every month to run the plant at a cost of Rs 68 crore. But we don’t gain any benefit from it, nor do we manage to prevent the dirty water from entering the river. A pipe has been laid, will connect the missing drains A pipe has been laid on the banks of the river to ensure that the dirty water leaving the city reaches a sewage treatment plant. There are three drains left in it, they will be connected soon. Work could not be performed due to code of conduct. There will be no need for a separate budget for this. – Sunil Chandravanshi, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation
