Let’s consider the characteristics and features of keeping representatives of each breed.
1. Borki-117
The cross was bred in Ukraine in 1973, but until 1998, scientists continued to improve it, increasing quality indicators. Chickens have a white color and are distinguished by high productivity.

The bird was bred by the popular Dutch company Hendrix Genetics together with the Institute of Animal Breeding ISA. He has a calm character, but is sensitive to stress. There is also a brown variety of this breed of laying hens, but white people are more popular among farmers.

Isa Brown chickens are unpretentious, easily acclimatized. They do not need much space, which significantly simplifies the arrangement of the chicken coop.

4. Bovans Gold Line
The best breeds of laying hens in Ukraine also include this cross, which is considered the most productive in terms of weight/feed consumption. It can also be used towards the meat. Chickens easily adapt to a cage or free housing, have strong immunity and are not demanding to feed.

5. White Leghorn
A strain of Italian selection. In the first year of life, the bird is most productive. It easily adapts to the weather, it is tough, very mobile, so it is advisable to keep it in pens with free range. It is not economically viable to keep Leghorns for more than 16 months.

They also have strong immunity and remain productive for 3-4 years. Even during the casting, the casting ability hardly decreases. They are not difficult to grow.

8. Coral Nick
The best breeds of laying hens also include hybrids of German origin. This cross can be distinguished by the black spots on the white feathers, which is why they are also called Dalmatians. The bird adapts well to a new place of residence, has a calm disposition and resistance to inflammatory diseases, easily tolerates climate changes. Remains productive for 3 years. Both a cage and vacation housing are possible.

A Dutch breed with a high laying rate, also popular among farmers. It is grown on an industrial scale in many countries. Birds of this breed are calm and not excited, even young roosters do not show aggression. Chickens need a lot of room to roam. In the winter time they fly as much as in the warm season. The peak productivity of this breed of laying hens lasts about two years, and then production begins to decline.

Chickens of German origin with light brown smooth feathers. Brown Nick is a highly productive egg-laying breed, characterized by ease of care and a calm disposition. Laying hens can lay eggs even in unfavorable conditions and almost never get sick. Both a cage and vacation housing are suitable for them.

- Egg weight – up to 75 grams;
- The color of the eggs is light brown;
- retention of young people – 96-98%;
- Puberty – 150-153 days;
- Chicken weight – 2 kg;
- Food consumption – 110-120 grams per day.
Crosses such as Dekalb, Leghorn and Dominant are considered the most tolerable. This is explained by the fact that the crosses are bred specifically to achieve high productivity.
On average, farmers replace flocks every 18 to 24 months to maintain high egg production and egg quality.
