GUWAHATI: The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Directorate today arrested an official of Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) in Nagaon for accepting bribe.

According to reports, the clerk, identified as Nanda Hazarika, who worked as a stock exchange board operator in Nagaon, was caught by the anti-corruption squad while accepting a bribe near his residence.

This was announced today by the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Department on their official X-handle, where they said, “Today @DIR_VAC_ASSAM trapped in Red Nanda Hazarika, Board Operator 1, O/O APDCL, Sub Division-2, Nagaon, after accepting bribe A demand near his place of residence in Nagaon, for processing a request for a commercial meter.”
