The Judicial Academy organizes training for newly selected Civil Judges – The Kashmir Monitor Achi-News

JAMMU: Under the patronage of Chief Justice, J&K and Ladakh High Court, Justice N Kotiswar Singh and the guidance of Governing Committee Chairman, Justice Sanjeev Kumar and other members of the Academy Governing Committee, the J&K Judicial Academy organized a pre-appointment training program for the newly selected Civil Judges (Junior Division) at the J&K Judicial Academy, Srinagar.

N. Kotiswar Singh, Chief Justice, J&K and Ladakh High Court and Lead Patron, J&K Judicial Academy defined the tone and texture of the program in action in the presence of Justice Tashi Rabstan.

Justice Sanjeev Kumar, Justice Sindhu Sharma, Justice Javed Iqbal Wani, Justice Puneet Gupta, Justice Moksha Khajuria Kazmi, Justice MY Wani and almost all the Judges from the Jammu wing joined the programme.

The Chief Justice, in his opening address, said that the concept of ‘Justice’ can be considered as a tremendous concept which is infused in our Constitution which has its roots in the soil of India. The idea of ​​justice is most commonly associated with an underlying assumption that justice equates to the concept of equal rights and equal opportunity to access and fair treatment in the legal system.

The Chief Justice outlined that the source of judicial power in law is, in fact, the effective exercise of judicial powers which originate from two sources. He added that the judges must honor the judicial office they have as repositories of public trust.

He emphasized that every action and every word, whether spoken or written, must show and accurately reflect that you hold a position of public trust and that they should be determined to continually strive hard to improve and maintain people’s confidence in the judicial system.

Justice Sanjeev Kumar, Chairman, Governing Committee of the J&K Judicial Academy, gave an overview of the Pre-Appointment Training Program module prepared by the Academy. Justice Javed Iqbal Wani, Member of the Governing Committee of the J&K Judicial Academy in his formal welcome address said that the Judiciary, which is an integral part of the society, plays a central role in keeping the society even more dynamic.

Justice Moksha Khajuria Kazmi, Member of the Governing Committee of the J&K Judicial Academy, presented a vote of thanks. Director, J&K Judicial Academy, YPBourney, conducted the proceedings of the first programme. The second session was conducted by Justice Bashir Ahmad Kirmani, Former Justice, J&K High Court, who discussed the Code of Judicial Conduct and Ethics for Judicial Officers. The third session was chaired by Justice Sanjeev Kumar, Chairman of the Governing Committee of the J&K Judicial Academy.
