Sheikhupura: Maheshwar Mehto, the accused who was absconding for 4 years in the case of strangulation of his wife, has been arrested by the Kurma police from Sahara village. The accused has been identified as Maheshwar Mahato, son of Bindeshwari Mahato, a resident of Sahara village. In this connection, Ramartan Kumar, brother of the deceased, a resident of Janpur village, filed a case for murder at the Kurma police station. Three people are accused of this. He fled after the murder. Regarding the incident, Superintendent of Kurma Police Station Ayush Kumar said that in 2020, the accused murdered his wife Renu Devi by strangling her for dowry. Since then he lives secretly sometimes in Punjab and sometimes in Bangalore. Two days ago he came to his village to participate in a puja ceremony at Guthia’s house.
