Devotees celebrated Swami’s birth anniversary at one of the oldest temples of Adilabad district, Swayambulimbadri Lakshmi Narasimhaswamy Temple. This time, programs like special Homam and Abhishekam were organized. For the first time, the Hanuman initiates of the village organized a procession for Lakshminarasimha Swami’s palanquin in honor of Swami’s birth anniversary. The Shobhayatra continued as a feast for the eyes on the streets of the village amid DJs and dancing devotees. Under the leadership of Alaya Pujari Vignesh, Poojadi programs were conducted scientifically. The women of the village came together with Mangala harati. A food donation program was also organized. On the occasion of Swami’s birth anniversary, the temple was full of rituals.
Since it was the day when Nrisimha appeared to save Prahlad from the clutches of Hiranyakashyapudi, it was celebrated as Swami’s birth anniversary. Devotees flock to the temple this time. Special puja programs were organized under the auspices of the temple committee. Under the leadership of Hanuman devotees, a Shobhayatra was organized with the idol of Lakshminarasimhaswamy and a huge idol of Hanuman. The palanquins of Hanuman and Narasimha Swamy were paraded on the streets of the village. The temple resonates with the remembrance of the names Hanuman and Hari.
Meanwhile, in this temple, which was illuminated as Swayambu, Swami received the constant worship of the devotees. The palace of the devotees who have come to seek her is luxuriant in gold. But every temple has idols of gods made of black stone. But in this temple, Swami’s idol looks like a black stone idol. But it is not a stone statue. It is a clay idol. It is amazing that the statue is not intact after years.
This temple has hundreds of years of history. Villagers say this is a temple that shines like Swayambu. In this Limbadri Lakshminarasimhaswamy temple, a fair is held every year on Shivaratri. At other times, devotees come from distant places like Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and other places to offer prayers. The temple is being developed with the help of the villagers. Every Saturday, the villagers perform a bhajan program in this temple as well as Annadanam.
