A young couple were mobbed by an angry mob. The couple’s ‘crime’ was feeding and raising stray dogs in the area. And in this shocking incident, Noida in Uttar Pradesh was engulfed in flames.
The media has reported that the incident started on May 2. On that day, a resident of a residential society in Sector 70, Noida, a six-year-old child was bitten by a stray dog. As a result, the child sustained serious injuries. Later, however, his condition stabilized. In such a situation, other residents also filed a complaint against those who feed the stray dogs in the society. At the same time, they protested strongly against it. But the situation took a different turn. The agitated mob suddenly attacked the young couple, alleging that they were even abusing the police officers.
The young couple, Shubham-Sankalitha, alleged that the agitated mob pushed the constable on duty. He even tried to switch off all the CCTV cameras on the spot. According to Shubham, “When my wife was recording the incident on her mobile phone, someone tried to take her phone away. My wife was injured in this.” This was not the end, Shubham further said, “Some of my friends were standing next to us. spoke of supporting us, but they were held hostage. And this whole incident was caught on camera.”
People for Animals (PFA) shared the video on their official X account and wrote, “A group of agitated people defied the law at Pan Oasis in Sector 70, Noida. As a young couple feed and look after the local dogs, they are attacked by the angry mob. Even the police were beaten and abused. Immediate strict action is requested against those causing trouble.”
The animal welfare movement also claims that those who have sterilized and vaccinated all stray dogs in the area are being physically abused! Even under threat of murder! Not only that, the residents of the society have also threatened to kill all the dogs in the area and release them elsewhere. A complaint has been lodged in this regard, but no FIR has been lodged so far.
