Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Wednesday chaired a meeting to review public health preparedness. During this, he discussed the management of heat-related diseases and emphasized the importance of timely action as soon as alerts are received from the meteorological department in the states. The health minister directed the states and union territories to prepare a plan to reduce the impact of heat wave especially for mass gatherings during the Lok Sabha elections. He said that timely awareness among the people would help in reducing the severe impact of such heat waves.
