The ITBP 53 Corps soldier posted on the Naxal front in the Jailbari headquarters of the district headquarters was shot when he was posted in the security arrangements at the headquarters itself. According to information received from sources, a bullet was suddenly fired from the gun of a soldier who had recently returned from leave, penetrating his chest and exiting. Immediately after the incident, other ITBP personnel took the injured to the district hospital. When after an initial investigation, considering the soldier’s difficult condition, he was referred from Chapar to Ripor for better treatment.
At the same time, ITBP officials were seen refraining from giving any statement in this regard. Meanwhile, another superintendent of police in the district, Robinson Goria admitted that a soldier was injured. According to the information provided by the additional inspector of police, the name of the injured soldier is Manish M., who is reportedly a resident of Kerala’s Kollam district.
