On Saturday night, a couple traveling in a car in the center of Jabalpur city was attacked by unknown miscreants. The accused attacked the car of Shubham Chaudhary and his wife Reshma with stones and then tried to steal them. When Reshma protested, he beat her and killed her by strangling her with a dupatta. During this time, Reshma’s one and a half year old son was sleeping on the back seat of the car. After committing the incident, the perpetrators fled the scene. After killing Reshma, the robbers looted her necklace, mangalsutra and around Rs 10,000 kept in her purse and ran away. The miscreants have also looted the mobile phones of Shubham and Reshma. As soon as information about the incident was received, Madhotal police station along with SP Aditya Pratap Singh reached the spot and started searching for the accused. More than 36 hours have passed since the murder incident, the accused is still out of police custody. Police say Reshma’s killers will be arrested soon.
After the incident, the police reached Shubham’s house and recorded his statement during interrogation.
