Indian shuttlers PV Sindhu and Lakshyasen have pulled out of the prestigious Thailand Open badminton tournament, which begins on the 14th of this month. They are preparing for the Paris Olympics and have withdrawn their names from the Thai Open.
In this tournament, the star doubles duo of Satwik Sairaj-Shirag Shetty will lead the Indian team. They will compete in the first round against the Malaysian pair Nur Ahmad Azrin Ayub-Te Wee Kiong. Star shuttler HS Pranai along with young players Kiran George and Satish Kumar are also competing in the men’s singles. Ashmita, Akarshi Kashyap, Malvika Bensud and Onthi Hoda compete in women’s singles. The pairs Sumit Reddy-Sikhi Reddy and Satish Kumar-Adia participate in the mixed doubles.
