The search for the new coach of the Indian team is about to begin. BCCI is going to release an advertisement on the subject soon, which was unveiled by Jai Shah in Mumbai. Currently, the coach of the Indian team is Rahul Dravid. But, Rahul Dravid’s contract ends after the T20 World Cup in June, after which the Indian team will need a new coach. BCCI secretary Jai Shah said the board will soon issue an announcement regarding the new coach.

Jay Shah said about Rahul Dravid that his tenure ends in June. But, if he wants to remain the coach of the Indian team in future, he can also apply again. The BCCI secretary further said that the decision on other members of the coaching staff like batting coach, bowling coach, fielding coach will be taken on the advice of the head coach after his selection. During these talks Shah did not even rule out the possibility of a foreign coach.

The Indian team will get a new head coach

Jai Shah said that right now I can’t say whether the new coach will be Indian or foreign. The Cricket Advisory Committee will decide on this. However, he did not hint at any possibility of having a separate coach for each format like England and Pakistan. The reason behind this was the presence of many players across all formats in the team. According to Jay Shah, a different coach for each format can make it difficult for these players to adapt.
