A senior Tamil Nadu BJP official has asked the Madras High Court to quash a case registered against him. In fact, CB-CID has registered a case against the BJP official in connection with the seizure of Rs 4 crore. This money was allegedly to be distributed among the voters of the Tirunelveli Lok Sabha seat. Naiganar Nagendran is the BJP candidate from this seat.

BJP state general secretary Keshav Vinayagam filed a petition in the Madras High Court. This petition was brought before the bench of Judge G. Saravanen. The committee adjourned the hearing of the case to June 3 and also issued a notice to the CB-CID seeking their reply. In the petition, the BJP leader said that the Election Commission’s flying squad caught two people in the Nellai Express near Tambaram railway station on April 6. Both men were hotel workers, a huge amount of cash was collected from them. The hotel owner and the two employees were then arrested. Cash worth 3.99 million rupees was found from the two youths. This cash was handed over to the Tildar and a case was registered at Tambaram Police Station. All three were later released on bail.
The BJP leader made these allegations
The BJP official said in the petition that CB-CID has again registered a case in this regard. The statements of the three accused were recorded. On May 20, the petitioner and two others were also served with a summons in this case and were asked to appear before the police. The petitioner refused to report to the police due to his commitments in the elections. The petitioner says that he is innocent and has nothing to do with the seized money. Also, he has no acquaintance with the people who were arrested. The BJP leader said that efforts are being made to implicate him and action is being taken against him out of political vendetta.
